Jan Miłosz Zarzycki is Managing and Artistic Director of the Witold Lutosławski Chamber Philharmonic in Łomża. He is also a Professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. He is a prize winner of international competitions in Italy, Spain and Hungary. He studied conducting with Marek Pijarowski at the Music Academy in Wrocław, gaining a diploma with distinction in 1994. He continued his studies in Vienna and Berlin, under the guidance of such famous conductors as Seiji Ozawa, Kurt Masur and Claudio Abbado. Before taking up conducting, he had graduated in violin performance from the Music Academy in Katowice (in 1990) and won several awards at violin competitions. He also finished Post-graduate Studies for Artists and Culture Animators at the Department of Management of Warsaw University. In 1988 he became Music Director of the Jeunesses Musicales Student Chamber Orchestra at the Music Academy in Katowice, and in 1992-1993 he worked closely with the State Opera in Wrocław. He was one of the two First Prize winners at the First Witold Lutosławski National Conductors’ Competition in Białystok in 1994, receiving also three special awards (including the Award from the Orchestra). Having won Third Prize at the 7th Arturo Toscanini International Conductors’ Competition in Parma in 1997, he was invited to conduct the Arturo Toscanini Symphony Orchestra of Emilia Romagna on a tour of Italy. He has worked with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Sinfonia Varsovia, the Warsaw Chamber Opera. In 1999 he was nominated the lecturer and a member of Conducting Faculty at Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. From this time on, he has also been conducting International Youth Music Workshop in Szczecin (as its artistic director and conductor). In 2004 he won the competition for the
post of the head and artistic manager of Łomża Chamber Orchestra. He has conducted all of Poland’s symphony orchestras. Foreign tours have taken him to Germany, France, Austria, Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Russia, Italy, Ukraine, Macedonia, the United States, Portugal, Mexico, Lebanon, Spain, Norway, Belgium, Lithuania and Belarus. So far, he has recorded 20 albums, one of which won the Fryderyk Award 2019 of the Polish recording industry, seven of which won a nomination to the Fryderyk Award and three to International Classical Music Awards. He also recorded the DVD Vistula Landscapes.
He has been a jury member of international music competitions, among others: European Union Conducting Competition (2018), International Conducting Competition Città di Brescia-Giancarlo Facchinetti (2019, 2021), Arthur Nikisch Conducting Competition (2020), I Concurso Internacional de Dirección de Orquesta „Universidad de Almería" (2021). His honours include a Special Award from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in recognition of the invaluable contribution to Polish musical culture (2008) and a diploma for his outstanding achievements in the preservation of Chopin's legacy (2011 and 2013). Furthermore, in 2013 he was honoured with Medal for Merit to Culture - Gloria Artis Medal, Podlaskie Voivodeship Marshal's Award for extraordinary achievements in the field of artistic creation, popularisation and preservation of culture and the President of the Lomza Award for special achievements in the field of culture. In 2014 by the decision of the Polish president, Jan Miłosz Zarzycki has become the Professor of Musical Art

Mariusz Drzewicki has graduated with honors from Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, as a student of prof. Tadeusz Chmielewski. At present, he is titular professor and haed of chair of the Piano Department in the parent Academy. Throughout his career, he has perfected his skills on masterclasss run by such prominent pianists as Wiktor Mierżanow and Rudolf Buchbinder. What is more, he has been a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Arts and Culture, Ferenc Liszt Association in Wrocław, Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe and Stiftung für Internationale Meisterkurse für Musik in Zürich. In 1995, he represented Poland in Fryderyk Chopin Pianistic Competition in Warsaw.
For many years, Mariusz Drzewicki has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Poland and abroad ( Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Austria, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania Great Britain, Norway, Italy). He has participated in numerous festivals, e.g. Festival of Polish Pianism in Słupsk, Polnishe Tage in Darmstadt, Days of Polish Culture in Tobolsk, Józef Hoffmann International Festival in Nałęczów, International Piano Festival in Bolzano and many others. He has also given many concerts in Żelazowa Wola, the birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin.
Mariusz Drzewicki has co-operated with the National Balet of Latvia in producing a ballet performance based on the music of Fryderyk Chopin. This was also a part of a project realized in partnership with Małgorzata Potocka and Sabat Theatre. Another undertaking worth mentioning is a great Viennese production entitled ‘Scala Soluna di Vienna’.
For a long time, Mariusz Drzewicki has performed chamber music with a violinist, Łukasz Błaszczyk. Together, they performed the premiere of Concertina for Violin, Piano and Symphony Orchestra by Zdzisław Szostak, accompanied by the Orchestra of Łodź Philharmonic and conducted by the composer.
The pianist has recorded for the Polish Radio and Television as well as the television of Latvia and the Netherlands. In 1999, he released a CD with music of Fryderyk Chopin. In 2010 a DVD has been released with piano compositions by Izaak Albeniz.
Mariusz Drzewicki has also recorded soundtracks for films and cartoons. (‘My Bicycle’, ‘Treflik Family’).
Mariusz Drzewicki has been an active teacher whose activity goes far beyond the Musical University. He runs workshops, masterclasses and seminars in Poland and abroad (Lithuania, Italy, Spain, Norway). He is also invited to be a member of jury in many pianistic competitions.

He started his learning to play the trombone in 1996. At the First and Second Stage Secondary School of Musical Comprehensive Education in Bielsko-Biała, under supervision of prof. Zdzisław Stolarczyk.In 2010, he graduated with honors from the Academy of Music in Krakow at the Department of Instrumental trombone class prof. Zdzislaw Stolarczyk.
Instrumental constantly improving their skills through numerous workshops and master classes with, among others, by such great masters as Joseph Alessi, Christian Lindberg, Carsten Swanberg, Jonas Bylund, Ingemar Roos, Dietmar Küblböck, Stefan Schulz and many others. In 2006 he was a student at Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hanover on the Socrates-Erasmus program. In 2010-2011 he was a student at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien under supervision of Prof. Dietmar Küblböck.
He is a multiple winner of the top positions in the international (Gdańsk-2012-2008 Mining oak wood, Brno-2007 Hawks Spring-2004) and national competitions (-2006 Warsaw, Katowice-2006 Mielec-2003, 2000,2001 Szczecinek-Oława-1999).
Operates concerts as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. As a soloist he has performed with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Cracow Philharmonic, Zabrze Philharmonic, Sinfonia Iuventus Polish Orchestra, Bielsko Festival Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Krakow. From solo recitals most important are: the Festival Trombone in Warsaw (2006), International Masterclasses in Szczecinek and Opole (2013), Wilanów Palace (2011) and the Royal Palace in Warsaw (2000) As a chamber musician participated in numerous concerts at home and abroad ex.: on Third International Chamber Music Festival „Music on the Heights” (Zakopane 2011), VII International Exhibition of Educational Perspectives (Warsaw 2007), master classes and the concert „Die grose zum Plauener Spizenfest Gala” (2013), Germany.
As an orchestral musician permanently working with Sinfonietta Cracovia, Capella Cracoviensis, Bielsko Festival Orchestra. Performing solo trombone Baroque recorded a CD of Capella Cracoviensis – Nicholas Zieleński „Opera Omnia”.
No interesting and varied musical literature on ensembles was inspired him to develop interest in composition and arrangement. His achievements as a composer has a solo and chamber music for wind instruments, music for film, theater „performance” and advertising. Also arranges music for popular bands and entertainment, for example, Golec uOrkiestra.
Repeatedly been honored with scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and the Arts and the National Children’s Fund. In 2003 he received a scholarship Young Talents Help Fund of Jolanta and Aleksander Kwasniewski, and 2010, he was awarded the Scholarship Program Ministry of Culture and National Heritage „Young Poland”.
In 2007-2011, he worked in the Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus while employed as a first trombonist. Starting in 2013, is a full-time employee of the Krakow Philharmonic employed as a first trombonist – soloist. Since September 2012 he has been an assistant in the class of trombone prof. Zdzislaw Stolarczyk in the Department of Brass Instruments Academy of Music in Krakow.
Since 2014 he has been a trombone teacher at ZPSM I and II st. In Bielsko-Biała. In 2016 he received a doctor degree in music education.
Maciej Sobczak began learning the violin at the age of ten and attended state music elementary and high school in Warsaw Poland. Subsequently he was accepted to study violin performance at the Music Academy of Gdansk where he earned a master’s degree in violin performance. While there he studied with the famous Stefan Herman, and Miroslawa Pawlak. He also attended master classes with Yfrah Neaman, Vladimir Avramov, and Rainer Kussmaul. In 1985 he started working at his alma mater. In the years 2003-2005 he was the Vice-Dean, in the years 2005-2012 – the Dean of the Faculty of Instrumental Music, and in the years 2012-2016 and 2016-2020 he served as the President of the Music Academy of Gdansk. Currently, he is the Head of the Department of Violin and Viola and a member of the Council of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk for the 2024-2028 term. He is a supervisor of doctoral dissertations, a reviewer in proceedings for granting the degree of habilitated doctor, and in proceedings for granting the title of professor. He is a member of the jury of violin and chamber music competitions on regular basis. Mr. Sobczak has performed as a soloist at multiple occasions and orchestras including the orchestra of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk - Poland, "Trio Nowe" chamber ensemble, as well as an orchestral musician with many domestic and foreign orchestral ensembles. In recognition of his artistic accomplishments, he was awarded the Knight's Order of the Order of
Polonia Restituta by the President of Poland.

A clarinetist, graduated with honors at the Academy of Music in Cracow in the class of prof. Andrzej Godek. He developed his professional skills at master courses conducted by G.Deplus, Ph.Cuper, D.Campbell. As one of the few clarinetists playing Bassethorn ( alto clarinet variation ). He leads a lively artistic activities as a soloist as well as chamber musician and orchestral musician performing at concerts and festivals in Poland and abroad / Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Spain, Germany, Slovakia, Ukraine, Italy, USA, Colombia, Peru, China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan/.
He is a member of the Mozart Bassethorn Ensamble. Further, he collaborated with the first Polish Contemporary Music Ensemble MW2, recording for the Vienna Modern Masters. In the years 1990-2012 he was a clarinetist of Capella Cracoviensis Chamber Orchestra.
He leads lectures and master classes, he is a jury member at competitions and auditions in Poland and abroad. Recently he is Professor at the Department of Woodwind Instruments and Accordion at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow.
